A Letter From The Southern Rock Cruise Team

The StarVista LIVE team spent quite a bit of time on the Southern Rock Cruise planning in the last few weeks and had some fun while at it!

First, we had a blast at Merriweather Post Pavillion in Columbia, MD at the M3 Southern Rock Classic on April 30th. It was a spectacularly beautiful day and we had the chance to spend some time with a number of artists that will be joining us on our inaugural Southern Rock Cruise in January.  After a blistering set of hard rockin’ Southern Rock, we spent a few minutes pool side catching up with new additions to the lineup, Black Stone Cherry as they tossed back a few cold ones.

Then Molly Hatchet showed us why “Flirtin’ with Disaster” is still an all time classic live anthem and we were able to catch up backstage with Bobby Ingram after the show. Bobby told us how much he enjoys cruising and particularly hanging out with his fans and we promised him lots of both. Read his interview with us and hear how the fans invigorate the band and their shows.

If anyone questions if the Outlaws are as incendiary a live band as ever, rest assured we can answer that with a resounding “Yes!” The band simply rocks from beginning to end. We picked Henry Paul’s brain on what he thought the fans like - in addition, of course to great performances- and he had a lot of helpful suggestions including acoustic sets, late night jams and guitar based Q&As with fans. It’s all in the works.

The only way to top a day of Southern Rock is with a show stopping performance by the kings of the genre-Lynyrd Skynyrd-and that’s just what happened. Skynyrd came on as the sun set and rocked a 75 minute stellar performance that was a perfect highlight to the already amazing day. We can’t wait to see them in January and given we are pretty much sold out, it is clear the fans are excited as well.

As we are about 6 months out from the cruise, the detail planning is in full gear with scheduling the performances, events and activities and working out all the details with the artists, the ship and our production team.  It’s the nitty-gritty, but our expertise and we can’t wait for it all to come together so we can enjoy the performances, and a cold one with you all.

Thank you for your support of the Southern Rock Cruise and we welcome any and all suggestions. Simply email us at info@southernrockcruise.com for more information.
